The Art of Sourdough

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to bake artisan-style sourdough bread, this workshop is for you! Nicole will demystify the process of working with wild yeast and guide you through each step of creating a loaf that’s crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of complex flavor. Class will cover everything from creating and maintaining a healthy starter (the cornerstone of sourdough) to stretching and folding techniques, proofing, shaping, and baking artisan sourdough bread. Participants can create the beginnings of a starter in class if they wish.
Learn how to feed, maintain, and troubleshoot your sourdough starter so it thrives.
Understand hydration, gluten development, and the magic of long fermentation.
Practice folding, shaping, and scoring to create beautiful artisan loaves.
Explore methods for achieving that signature crackling crust and airy crumb.
Get ideas for using sourdough discard in a variety of recipes!
By the end of class, you’ll have the confidence to bake sourdough bread at home, plus guests can create the beginnings of a starter to take home and continue their sourdough journey.
