ABOUT NICOLE

“Find something you're passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.”

- Julia Child

Nicole Flowers has been teaching people to cook since 2016.  She started her highly successful cooking school, The Culinary Cottage, after receiving many requests for private cooking lessons.  She turned a charming 1912 cottage into the perfect cooking space, and quickly became one of the most sought-after places for culinary classes in the San Antonio area.

For Nicole, cooking is not just about following recipes—it’s about expressing your creativity and having fun in the process. She is an ardent foodie and has always been passionate about food. She was introduced to the culinary world at a very early age, spending countless hours in the kitchen with her Greek grandmother—an amazing cook and her biggest source of inspiration. Many of Nicole’s childhood memories are rooted in food; her father is a former restaurant owner and chef. She never saw her grandmother or father use a recipe, but instead watched them cook effortlessly, pairing flavors and textures together to create amazing meals. Nicole believes food has the power to bring people together. She loves a good meal, eating with loved ones, cooking for loved ones, and simply just being around food!

Nicole completed her Culinary Certification through a CIA-designed program, has worked as a personal chef, and a pastry chef, creating desserts for The Dodging Duck restaurant and brewery in Boerne, Texas (her "diner-style" chocolate pie won 3rd place in the 2011 Texas Chocolate Festival).

In 2023, Nicole closed her brick and mortar and now teaches classes in the kitchens of some local businesses. This has allowed her to spend more time with family and still get to share her passion for food with others. Teaching people not only how to become a better cook, but to actually love cooking, is her true north.
